These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of The Hierarchy, accessible at thehierarchy.eu. By creating an account or using the service in any way, you agree to these terms in full.
The Hierarchy is a social network founded on behavioral reality. Members answer a series of scenarios, receive a rank from I to VIII, and build a permanent public profile that reflects their real-life trajectory over time.
The service is operated by Yanis Kellil, Lyon, France. Contact: contact@thehierarchy.eu
The Hierarchy is currently free to access. We reserve the right to introduce optional premium features in the future. Any such changes will be communicated at least 15 days in advance and will never affect access to your existing rank or profile.
To create an account, you must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your country of residence. If you are accessing the service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. You may not share your account or allow another person to access the service through your credentials.
Accounts may be created via email or through a supported OAuth provider (Google, Discord). You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep that information updated.
Each person may hold only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent sanctions, manipulate rankings, or misrepresent your identity is strictly prohibited and will result in permanent suspension of all associated accounts.
By using The Hierarchy, you agree to the following:
The founding principle: The Hierarchy is built on truth. Every fabricated entry undermines the integrity of the entire community. Members found to be manipulating the system will face score penalties, credibility sanctions, or permanent account termination.
Your rank and score are calculated automatically based on your behavioral profile, daily journal entries, and, where applicable, verified external data sources you have chosen to connect.
Rankings are updated on a regular cycle. We reserve the right to modify the scoring methodology at any time to improve accuracy, fairness, or resilience against manipulation. Such changes may affect your rank. They do not entitle you to any compensation or refund.
Your rank reflects your declared activity and trajectory on this platform within a defined framework. It is not a definitive assessment of your personal, professional, or social worth. We expressly accept no responsibility for how you or others interpret your rank outside the context of the platform.
In accordance with Article 22 of the GDPR, you have the right to request human review of any automated rank calculation, to express your point of view, and to contest the outcome. To exercise this right, contact us at contact@thehierarchy.eu. We will respond within 30 days.
You retain ownership of the journal entries, declarations, and other content you submit. By posting content on The Hierarchy, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, process, and use that content solely for the purpose of operating the service.
You are solely responsible for the content you publish. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms, without prior notice.
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account if we determine that you have:
Where circumstances permit, we will notify you of the reason for suspension and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond before a permanent termination is enforced. In cases of serious or immediate threat, suspension may occur without prior notice.
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently erased within 30 days, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
The Hierarchy is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranty, express or implied, regarding the uninterrupted availability of the service, the accuracy of rank calculations, or the fitness of the service for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of rank, or any personal or professional consequences you attribute to your rank.
We are not responsible for interactions between members, including messages, transactions, or meetings that occur as a result of or outside the platform.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
All elements of The Hierarchy, including but not limited to the name, concept, visual design, ranking system, quiz scenarios, archetype framework, and all written content, are the exclusive property of Yanis Kellil and are protected by applicable intellectual property law.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property without our express prior written consent. Unauthorised reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of any part of the platform is strictly prohibited.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Lyon, France.
If you are a consumer resident in a Member State of the European Union, this clause does not deprive you of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence, nor of your right to bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
If you are accessing the service from outside France, you remain responsible for compliance with any local laws that apply to you.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 15 days before they take effect. The date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision.
For material changes, we will ask you to actively confirm your acceptance before continuing to use the service. For minor or clarifying changes, your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
